Wedding Films with Shaina Koren Cinematography
4 essential tips for a great wedding cinematography experience
1. Are you looking for a cinematographer? TIP: Make sure you LOVE the Video Style – When searching for a videographer or cinematographer, make sure to watch multiple examples of their work. What you see in their real wedding examples is what you will get if you hire them. Artists develop their style over time, always evolving – but a collection of their work should give you a GREAT peek at what you can expect for your OWN wedding memories! Watch examples, explore your options, ask all the silly questions.
2. Are you having an epic rehearsal dinner, pre-wedding adventure, or after party? TIP: Hire your cinematographer on those days too! Your wedding day is not the only thing that should make it into your wedding video. Spend a little more to hire your cinematographer to capture all of the speeches at your rehearsal dinner and if you are planning a fun outing with your bridesmaids the day before your wedding, consider bringing your cinematographer along. The more content that is captured to tell your unique story, the more personal your wedding video will be!
3. Ok, I’m trying to decide where to get ready for my wedding day… TIP: Natural light, please and you’ll thank me. On your wedding day, your cinematographers will join you for preparations, which is their time to be creative with the natural moments that are happening: hair + makeup, the laughs and little stories, the flower girl twirling around in her mini white dress. Make sure you choose a room that has plenty of natural light (lots of windows are a huge plus) and space for everyone to relax and not be cluttered with stuff. Also, don’t be alarmed when we turn off every light switch and open every set of blinds in sight – we’re not crazy. I promise it’ll be worth it in your video.
4. TIP: Enjoy your day. It’s your wedding day – all the planning has brought you to today and now it’s time to put down your notepad, no more pinterest boards or DIY crafting, trust in your incredible vendors and just enjoy your day spending time with all of the most important people in your life. Don’t stress the little things – it will all turn out exactly how it’s supposed to!
